Our goal is to provide up-to-date, quality data across sectors to our stakeholders. From business and industry, nonprofits, governments, researchers, and Extension staff, All Things Nebraska is a place for you to find data.
Our data can help Nebraskans better understand community needs, allocate resources, and make more data-informed decisions.

The data on All Things Nebraska comes from more than 120 national and state sources. Each map layer and data point includes the release date and a link to the original source for easy reference. Some information is also shared on this platform directly from Nebraska Extension research and outreach efforts.
Update schedules depend on the original data providers and other factors. All Things Nebraska refreshes its datasets as new information becomes available. Each map layer and report clearly lists its most recent release date.

Yes. The platform includes both current and historical information. Historical map layers can be viewed by year within the map room, and topic-based reports display data trends over time. Most historical data dates to the prior decennial census, circa 2010.
1. Begin by searching for data you want to view on the map. An “Add Data” pane will appear as you enter the map room. Use the keyword search (e.g., poverty, population change, income, housing) to explore available map layers. You can also search by data source (USDA, Census Bureau, etc.).
2. Click the checkbox next to the layer you want to view on the map, and the map layer will load.

3. Click the “Legend” button to view the map legend and close the “Add Data” section.

4. Export your map as an image file (pdf, jpg, etc.) or share it via a dynamic link.

The data, maps and reporting tools available in All Things Nebraska are provided by the Center for Applied Research and Engagement Systems (CARES) at the University of Missouri with guidance and direction from the Nebraska Extension team.
